  4. Blast From the Past: Reblog Contest

My go-to comfort food is a big bowl of pho. Pho is a Vietnamese noodle soup dish with different cuts of beef in a clear beef broth with rice noodles. I like to garnish it with some thai basil and a squeeze of lime. I love to dip the beef in a mix of hoisin sauce and sriracha hot sauce. It’s so goooood! It really hits the spot especially on a cold or rainy day.

What is your go-to comfort food?

I love beef pot pie and chicken pot pie. I mean, I really love them. Delicious stew wrapped in a flakey pie crust — it has been my favorite comfort food since I was very little.—Veronica

What is your favorite dish to enjoy on St. Patrick’s Day?

A pasty, the delightful and savory pastry filled with meat and potatoes, is actually my favorite St. Patrick’s Day dish. Yes, I know it’s not technically Irish, but my heritage is a mix of English and Irish so I celebrate by eating these fabulous treats! (It also helps that pasties are very popular in Michigan, particularly the Upper Peninsula, so it reminds me of home).—Veronica

  6. Blast From the Past: Reblog Contest

I have an avocado tree at home so whenever avocados r in season, I bring guacamole and chips to potlucks. I’ve also been known to bring coconut macaroons and brownies too. I like things that are simple and delicious! :)

    What’s your go-to potluck recipe?

My favorite is actually “Cheesy Potatoes,” as my family calls it. It’s not quite the same recipe as this one but there is just something about the combination of cheese, potatoes and mushrooms (that’s right, we add mushrooms!) that just keeps us all coming back for more. My second favorite? Fifteen-layer Jell-O. —Veronica

The coolest part of this picture is because this lady (I always assume people on the internet are women, I GUESS it could be a guy) made this based off of a scene from an anime. It looks just like the screenshot from the anime, it’s so cool.

  10. RE-MENT TRIPLE MEALS DELUXE - GANSO FOOD SETS

Re-ment is a Japanese company that makes different series of miniatures sold in mystery boxes. You never know which set you’re going to get in a series! (Which is why I have three copies of Set #1 - Pizzeria Bambino! -__-;) Out of the Triple Meals Deluxe - Ganso Food series, I was able to get 5 out of the 10 possible sets. I wanted to collect them all and still need:

Set #3 - Joy Luck Restaurant

Set #4 - Dongara Rice Bowls

    Set #5 - Curry House R&M

    Set #7 - Teppan Theater

Set #9 - Ice Cream Parlor Parfait Carnival

I think the Triple Meals Deluxe - Ganso Food series was discontinued a little while ago, which is why I haven’t bought any new boxes, but I know they’re still available on eBay. (Though the mystery is no longer in them since they tell you which one you’re buying. Haha!)
